Wildfire & Outage Update: Latest Restoration Efforts

September 12, 2020 - Emerald staff has been in contact with state and local officials throughout the weekend, closely monitoring the areas designated evacuation zones in Marcola and the Mohawk Valley. While power has been shut off in these areas for safety reasons, Emerald is committed to restoring power as soon as it is safe to do so.

As of this afternoon, restoration work has begun in the areas west of Marcola Road and south of the town of Marcola. Power has been largely restored to both Sunderman Road and Parsons Creek Road. Crews are working in other parts of this area throughout the day.

Please note: Given the current air quality conditions, power restorations may be a long and difficult process. Once conditions allow, our crews must patrol power lines and inspect utility facilities to ensure they are in safe working order before we can re-energize. The current air conditions make visibility poor and will lengthen the time it takes to make these inspections.

We understand the hardship this is for many of our customers and our thoughts are with you. We appreciate your patience as we work toward restoring power to the Marcola and Mohawk Valley areas. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
