Outage Update: Customers Need to Make Sure Weatherhead & Meter Base are Working

Damaged Meter BaseDamaged Meter BaseAs Emerald People’s Utility District (EPUD) continues restoring power to customers’ homes, residents are urged to make sure two key pieces of equipment on their homes are working.

“We’ve got 64 line workers and 10 tree trimmers working today to restore power to as many people as we can. We want to make sure our customers immediately have power once we restore it. For that to happen, they must have a working weatherhead and meter base,” said Scott Coe, EPUD general manager.

“Customers are responsible for maintaining the weatherboard and meter base. We advise our customers to be proactive. If you can, go out and look at your meter base. If a downed tree or limb has pulled it away from your home, an electrician will need to repair it,” said Scott Coe, EPUD general manager.

The damaged meter base photos were taken by EPUD customer Michele Power.
