The US National Weather Service Portland Oregon (NWS) has issued a Red Flag Warning for thunderstorms and high instability. It is in effect until 8 PM today. This affects the Cascade foothills, including areas such as Marcola, Fall Creek, Dexter, and Cottage Grove.
During the Red Flag Warning, we will monitor the weather closely and may modify how protection equipment operates if conditions worsen. This modification may make outages more likely to occur and/or take longer to restore.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of the above conditions can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
