The National Weather Service has extended the Red Flag Warning for the Cascade foothills until 11 PM Tuesday evening. To view a map of the areas affected by the Red Flag Warning, go to the National Weather Service website at https://www.weather.gov/wrh/fire?wfo=mfr .
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly, including wind and low relative humidity.
For the affected areas in our district, EPUD will remain in Guarded Operating Mode which may involve disabling recloser equipment. This may cause outages to be more likely to occur and take longer to restore. WE CURRENTLY HAVE NO PLANS TO IMPLEMENT A PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF (PSPS). WE WOULD ONLY DO SO AS A LAST RESORT IF CONDITIONS CHANGE DRAMATICALLY.
