After the extensive damage last night, today was a near complete reset as if it was a brand new storm event. As a result, we were nearly back to square one, clearing new public safety hazards (downed lines across driveways, leaning poles, etc.) and building back the main lines of our system.
NOTE: Repairs were made on the transmission service for Cottage Grove and Marcola nearly all day. We are in frequent communication with our transmission provider, the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), and they tried multiple times to restore their transmission lines in these areas. BPA's transmission lines allow us to serve these areas from our substation. As of 10:00 PM, BPA restored transmission service to the Cottage Grove area. Transmission service to Marcola remains out. This remaining transmission point remains a high priority at BPA and they have brought in significant additional resources to attempt to restore it.
GREAT PROGRESS TODAY, INCLUDING
- Dozens of public safety clearances
- Main line pole replacements on Cloverdale Road, Dale Kuni (in preparation for a freeway crossing), Sears Road, Delight Valley Road, Highway 58, and Marcola Road
- Main distribution line transfer at Emerald Parkway to a new transmission pole
- Significant wire repairs to Van Duyn Road main line
- Repairs on Sunderman Road in Marcola started
- Coordinated with Lane County to clear trees and debris from roads on McKenzie View and in areas of Marcola
- Started repair work on the Dexter feeder
- Restored power to large portions of Coburg Bottom Loop
- Restored power to portions of Jasper-Lowell between the Jasper store and Jasper mill
- Restored power to initial portions of Highway 58 close to I-5, including Staffordshire
- Restored power to Mathews Road
- Restored power to most of Goshen service territory
- Restored service and generation at the Short Mountain power plant

- Additional areas of Creswell will not have power restored until Friday at the earliest as we need to move wire over I-5 (requires freeway slowdown)
