With more below freezing nights in the forecast, Emerald People’s Utility District (EPUD) is extremely concerned about the health and safety of customers.
“More extreme cold is coming. Those without power need to expect to not have power for up to another full week,” said Scott Coe, EPUD general manager.
“If you cannot leave your home because of downed lines or other reasons and you are struggling without power and need non-emergency assistance, please call the Lane County winter weather hotline at (541) 682-3977,” he said. “We also encourage you to check on your neighbors and anyone who may be particularly vulnerable to the cold weather.”
Emerald PUD is a not‐for‐profit electric utility formed in 1978 by a small group of local citizens who wanted better, customer‐oriented service at the lowest possible rates. Today EPUD serves more than 20,000 meters in Lane County, Oregon.
