EPUD General Manager Kyle Roadman provides an update on the ice storm outages after weather changes cause new damages.
We are experiencing very large and widespread outages in all areas of our service territory.
ALL CUSTOMERS WHO ARE CURRENTLY WITHOUT POWER SHOULD PLAN TO BE WITHOUT POWER FOR A WEEK OR MORE.
This ice storm has caused more damage to the electric system than the utility has seen before. In the past four days, our linemen and tree trimmers have faced countless falling trees and limbs, a few landslides, and some very close calls.
After this afternoon's weather caused catastrophic damage to a span of main line and vastly increased the number of outages, we still anticipate wind tonight and tomorrow. This could further increase the number of dangers and outages.
