EPUD General Manager Kyle Roadman and Operations Manager Mark Raimer provide the latest information about repairs and power restorations following the January 13 Ice Storm.
EPUD crews and aiding crews are positioned throughout the District, working to restore power according to the utility's established Steps to Restoring Power (see attached graphic).
Crews are making progress and we expect to get many customers restored in the next few days; however, there will be areas that are going to take longer to restore. As stated by General Manager Kyle Roadman in the above video update, we have some areas that are expected to be without power for a week or more. We understand this is a hard message to hear, but our goal is to keep our customers fully aware of the situation so you can make informed decisions on how to best keep yourself and your family safe.
Extended outages will most likely affect the following areas:
- Saginaw (Delight Valley Road)
- Creswell (Market, Orchard, Davisson, Matthews)
- Lorane
- Marcola (Sunderman, Old Mohawk, Hill)
- Lost Creek
- London
- Marcola (south)
- Dexter (areas not restored with main line restoration)
- Jasper Lowell
- Seavey Loop and Pleasant Hill (areas not restored with main line restoration)
Some areas, including Marcola and Cottage Grove, are being impacted by the loss of the feeding transmission lines. These areas will not be restored until after the transmission lines are restored. In the meantime, crews are making repairs so restorations will be faster once transmission lines are repaired.
This information is accurate at this time; however, the forecasted weather events for tomorrow, which include more freezing rain, ice accumulations, and freezing temperatures, will likely cause additional outages. We will continue to keep you posted as conditions and outages evolve.
