Three finalists are competing for the 2023 GREEN Grant to help fund their clean, renewable energy projects in EPUD’s district! Now through August 10, 2023, subscribers of the GREEN program can vote for the project they want to support with program dollars.

CENTER FOR RURAL LIVELIHOODS (CRL), Cottage Grove
Solar array system – 10.4 kW, 26 panels roof-mounted
This project will advance the use of solar technology on the Center for Rural Livelihoods campus to educate others about sustainable living, minimizing climate impact, and benefiting the local community. CRL’s work in rural economic development aims to link climate smart land stewardship practices and ecological regeneration with sustainable rural livelihoods in ways that build equity and long-term community wealth.
KESEY FARM PROJECT, Pleasant Hill
Solar array system – 10.7 kW, 28 panels roof-mounted
The Kesey Farm Project’s mission is to preserve the historic home of author Ken Kesey as a living archive and inspirational place of cross-disciplinary, creative community for generations to come. This solar grant would support the Kesey Farm Project’s mission by providing power for workshops, classes, residencies, and events that take place in this historic space. Solar would also support its mission to be an example of how a more innovative and sustainable future might look.
LANE COMMUNITY COLLEGE (LCC), Cottage Grove
Solar array system – 7.7 kW, 20 panels roof-mounted
The primary purpose of this renewable energy project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from regular operations of LCC’s Cottage Grove Center and to reduce operating costs. The system will reduce electrical energy consumption by approximately 14% per year. The college has an operating Green Revolving Fund where the yearly savings from this project would be deposited to continue to fund additional resource conservation projects at the Cottage Grove Center.
