For customers currently using a generator or planning to purchase one, EPUD offers a cash rebate of up to $500 to connect safely by installing a generator transfer switch or GenerLink™ device. Proof of purchase and installation required.
A generator transfer switch or GenerLink™ device allows your generator to be safely connected and provide backup power during an outage, without the risk of backfeeding electricity to EPUD’s system. Backfeeding not only has the potential to put EPUD line crews at risk, but it could cause a surge in your home strong enough to injure or kill you or a family member.
