ATTENTION:
Expect delays for new service connections. Construction material costs and procurement lead times have risen drastically in the past 3 years. Please be advised this could impact the timing and total cost of your project.
The Line Extension Cost Estimator is to be used to create estimates that will provide an approximate cost for new single phase services. It is not intended to determine a design or route, or identify how facilities will be installed on your site. A formal design and cost will be developed after you meet on site with an Emerald PUD representative.
DO NOT BEGIN ANY EXCAVATION OR PLACEMENT OF ELECTRIC FACILITIES WITHOUT MEETING WITH AN EMERALD PUD REPRESENTATIVE FIRST
Please note that estimates are not applicable to alterations, conversions, service inside subdivisions, high density loads, 3-phase loads, or any lot where low-voltage facilities already exist to serve your new location. An appointment will need to be scheduled for these types of services in order to receive a cost estimate.
The estimate is calculated based on starting point and distance provided, and may not reflect conditions unique to your site. The estimated path for the power line should be clear, accessible by Emerald PUD vehicles, employees and authorized contractors year around, and free of trees and rock.
Customer is responsible for:
- Trenching
- Conduits
- Sleeves
- Grounding and metering equipment including;
- Meterbase
- Weatherhead
- Service mast
- Other materials and labor that may be specific to your installation
Other factors that may affect cost include, but are not limited to:
- Street crossings (traffic control, boring across road, or road repair from trenching)
- Obstacles in route
- Concrete or shallow rock
- Steep incline/decline
- Soil Conditions (sandy, rocky, or contaminated soil)
- Easements
- Right-of-way Permitting
- Difficult Access
- Vegetation
The maximum allowed service wire length is 150 feet. All other distances will be calculated as a primary line extension. The maximum allowed line extension length for this approximation tool is 1,500 feet.
