Scholarships are available to those starting or continuing their college or trade school education and adults seeking second career training. EPUD will award up to five (5) $3,000 scholarships totaling $15,000 in 2020 to students interested in pursuing utility industry careers.
EPUD’s 2020 EmPOWERing Scholarship Program is now open.
Due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, the scholarship application deadline has been extended until Monday, June 8, 2020. If you have already submitted your application prior to the change, no further action is needed.

Graduating high school seniors or adults who have graduated high school or received their GED from an accredited educational institution may apply. High school or college transcript must show an accumulated 2.0 GPA at minimum. Scholarships will be awarded to five EPUD customers or their family members who are attending a college, university, or trade school in 2020.
The electric utility industry employs a broad range of people with widely varying skills and trades, including line work, tree trimming, engineering, energy efficiency, accounting, communications, graphic design, customer service, and human resources, and many others. An EmPOWERing Scholarship can help you further your education and learn the skills that may lead to a utility career in the future.

To apply for one of five $3,000 scholarships, please submit an application and the required attachments. Application may be submitted electronically (see form at the bottom of this page) or download the application and mail it with the required attachments to the following address:

Application, transcript, resume, essay, and photo must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020 . Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of their scholarship status by July 2020.
Scholarship monies will be distributed to the institution selected by the scholarship recipient.
