Two EPUD Employees Receive National Recognition

August 17, 2011

Two EPUD  employees will be nationally recognized by the American Public Power Association (APPA) as “Rising Stars in Public Power.” Jaime Cranmer, Customer Service & Communications Manager, and Richard Gunn, Meterman, are among 60 public power workers selected from around the United States for the honor. Recipients will be featured in the September issue of APPA’s Public Power Magazine.

 

“We were looking for individuals who are making a mark on their utilities and local communities and have a clear plan to continue improving the public power community as a whole in the future,” said David Blaylock, Magazine Editor for APPA. “We were inundated with submissions, including a number of fantastic future leaders from engineering, communications and line work, as well as managers as you would expect.”

 

EPUD employee Jaime CranmerJaime Cranmer has worked at EPUD for 15 years, and is only 33. During that time, she has been promoted seven times, from a high school office assistant to her current role as Customer Service & Communications Manager. She has overseen many successful projects at EPUD and has also managed to have three children during this time, including twins. In a recent performance review, her manager stated that Cranmer “continues to find better ways to get the job done and build a trained, informed, and involved team.”

 

 

 

EPUD employee Richard GunnRichard Gunn has worked at EPUD for 13 years. During that time, he moved from temporary AutoCAD assistant to Meterman and will soon become a Substation Meterman. He has overseen many successful projects at EPUD while simultaneously completing a dual apprenticeship, and has also fathered triplets during this time. In a recent review, his manager stated that Gunn has “impressive organizational skills and a desire to work on a variety of job responsibilities. He is a tremendous asset to EPUD.”
