The electric utility industry is changing. In the past, our non-profit, consumer-owned utility could keep rates stable and power available for its customers. Now, the effects of changing markets are causing electric rates to increase for most Northwest consumers. That’s why we need your help.
People Power is a grassroots movement of non-profit utility consumers who support the goal of making sure power is affordable and available here at home. Outside interests want our affordable electricity, which drives up the price for non-profit utilities and their consumers in the process.
By joining People Power, you will learn more about benefits you receive from the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) and the issues affecting affordable power rates. You also will have the chance to contact legislators who make decisions about these benefits, and ultimately our wallets!

Consumer-owned utilities like EPUD are owned by the people they serve. Joining People Power protects our interests and:
- Helps our utility keep rates affordable
- Protects our power supply in the Northwest
- Provides updates on preference & issues affecting our utility
Your Role
It was PEOPLE who started the movement for nonprofit, consumer-owned utilities like EPUD. It must be People Power again that fights for our right to affordable and available power. As a member, we ask you to:

- Access updates or participate in Action Alerts through People Power’s web site at www.pplpwr.org
- Contact your legislators and other policy makers when needed
