Note:
The above schedule is approximate; we may install meters out of sequence, as work schedules and resources dictate.

EPUD’s Automatic Meter Reading program is just starting, and your old meter will be replaced with a new high-tech, automated meter.  You will not be charged for the new meter.  When your new meter is installed, the power will be interrupted briefly, so you will need to reset digital clocks and other electronics.

The Creswell area was the beginning of our AMR deployment of 19,000 meters that started in 2007 and will continue through early 2008.  To ensure accuracy during the start-up phases of this program, new meters will be read both by a meter reader as well as electronically.

Your new, state-of-the-art meter has a digital display instead of dials, and uses the power lines to transmit your energy usage.  We’ll simply “read” your precise meter information from our office.  The difference is clear:

Accuracy - The new digital meters reduce human error, so your energy readings and bills are more precise.

Security - We'll no longer need to enter your yard to read your meter, so there's no need to unlock your gates or keep your pets inside on meter reading day.

Efficiency - We'll reduce our fuel emissions, which is an environmental plus, by removing five Meter Reader trucks from service.
